There are 16 teams from Massachusetts competing in the WGBH's season 9 academic tournament.

MARLBOROUGH, MA—WGBH’s High School Quiz Show announced the 16 teams from across Massachusetts to compete on the ninth season of WGBH’s televised academic tournament, and it includes Marlborough's Advanced Math & Science Academy.

The schools that received the 16 highest scores on an oral quiz at the Super Sunday qualifying event held earlier this month at WGBH’s studios move on to the next phase of the competition, said the announcement from WGBH.

“Congratulations to the schools advancing in the High School Quiz Show competition and thank you to all of the schools that came to Super Sunday,” said host Billy Costa in a statement. “Each year I look forward to seeing Quiz Show veterans again and to welcoming new participants at the tapings, and this year is no exception. I’ll see you in January.”
